Healthy Hair Never Dries, It Beautifies!!

 As promised, here is my segment on maintaining and getting a healthy mane. No matter the texture on the outside, the starting point begins on the inside. Just as it is to have the right hair care products, you need the right food ingredients to see results as well. I am all for unique/fun hair styles, but not at the price of damaging my hair. As I have transformed my lifestyle to clean eating, I have noticed that my hair has become stronger, grows faster, shinier, and fuller. Here are few key foods to help with your hair journey!!!

Foods to gravitate to for LONGER, STRONGER, HEALTHY HAIR:
  • Salmon- High in Protein & Omega 3 Fats
  • Legumes- Beans, Unsalted Nuts, and Peas contain iron and zinc
  • Dark Green Leafy Vegetables- Spinach, Kale, Chard... contain iron and vitamins
  • Eggs- Excellent source of Biotin and Vitamin B-12
*All are good sources in promoting healthy hair & growth if consumed on a consistent basis along with vitamin hair supplements*

For my Smoothie Lovers- Here is an easy recipe to use if you are on the go for your healthy hair!!

Healthy Hair Smoothie:
  • 2 Apples
  • 3 Carrots
  • 8 Mint Leaves
  • 1/2 TBS of Cinnamon
 (Make sure to add your choice of liquid, ice, and additives to the mix)

*Incorporate one or more of these ingredients in your regimen to help keep strands strong and healthy. (These ingredients help increase scalp blood circulation for hair growth). Recipe also available under "Recipe/Tips & Insight" tab.

A few days ago, I spoke on the power of reflection and how it is important to re-focus and re-center. Sometimes we can be discouraged by numerous factors that take us away from our center. We can react on impulse without taking time to tend to ourselves. Maintaining true to yourself, needs nurturing and time. As a close friend said to me, don't allow fear to block your blessing. I encourage you all to tend to the health of your emotional stability. Here are 6 tips "In Doing For Yourself":

1. Spending Time With The Right People
2. Facing Your Problems Head On
3. Noticing & Living In The Present
4. Valuing The Lessons Your Mistakes Teach You
5. Being More Polite To Yourself
